The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the 2020 Nobel Prize in Physics with one half to Roger Penrose and the other half jointly to Reinhard Genzel and Andrea Ghez. Half of the Nobel prize went to Roger Penrose for the "discovery that black hole formation is a robust prediction of the general theory of relativity”, and the other half went to Reinhard Genzel and Andrea Ghez for the "discovery of a supermassive compact object at the centre of our galaxy”,
ഐന്സ്റ്റീന്റെ സാമാന്യാപേക്ഷികതാ സിദ്ധാന്തമനുസരിച്ചാണ് തമോഗര്ത്തങ്ങള് രൂപപ്പെടുന്നതെന്ന് ഗണിത ശാസ്ത്രമോഡല് ഉപയോഗിച്ച് തെളിയിച്ചതിനാണ് റോജര് പെന്റോസിന് നൊബേല് സമ്മാനം ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഗാലക്സിയുടെ മധ്യത്തില് പുതിയ വലിയ വസ്തുലിനെ കണ്ടെത്തിയതിനാണ് റയ്ന്ഹാര്ഡ് ഗെന്സലിനും ആന്ഡ്രിയ ഗേസിനും പുരസ്കാരം.
രസതന്ത്രത്തിനുള്ള 2020 ലെ നൊബേൽ പുരസ്കാരത്തിന് ഇമ്മാനുവേല് കാര്പ്പെന്റിയര്, ജന്നിഫര് ദൗഡ്ന എന്നിവർ അർഹരായി. ഡിഎന്എ തന്മാത്രകളില് കൃത്യമായ തിരുത്തലുകളും മുറിച്ചുമാറ്റലും കൂട്ടിച്ചേര്ക്കലും സാധ്യമാക്കുന്ന CRISPR/Cas9 ജീന് എഡിറ്റിങ് കണ്ടിപിടുത്തതിന് ഇരുവരെയും പുരസ്കാരത്തിന് അർഹരാക്കിയത്.
2020 ലെ സമാധാന നൊബേൽ പുരസ്കാരം ഐക്യരാഷ്ട്രസഭയ്ക്ക് കീഴിലുള്ള വേൾഡ് ഫുഡ് പ്രോഗ്രാമിനാണ് (WFP) . 🕊വിശപ്പിനെതിരെ പൊരുതാനുള്ള ശ്രമങ്ങള്ക്കും പ്രശ്നബാധിത മേഖലകളിലെ സമാധാനാന്തരീക്ഷം മെച്ചപ്പെടുത്താനുള്ള ശ്രമങ്ങള്ക്കും യുദ്ധത്തിനും കലഹത്തിനുമുള്ള ആയുധമായി വിശപ്പിനെ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നതിനെതിരെ പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചതിനും ആണ് നൊബേൽ സമ്മാനം നൽകുന്നത്.
