Saraswati Samman
Saraswati SammanThe Saraswati Samman is an annual award for outstanding prose or poetry literary works in any of the 22 languages of India listed in Schedule VIII of the Constitution of India. It is named after an Indian goddess of knowledge. The Saraswati Samman was instituted in 1991 by the K. K. Birla Foundation.
ഓരോ വർഷവും ഇന്ത്യൻ ഭാഷകളിൽ നിന്നുള്ള മികച്ച സാഹിത്യസൃഷ്ടിക്ക് നൽകിവരുന്ന ഒരു പുരസ്ക്കാരമാണ് സരസ്വതി സമ്മാൻ. ഹിന്ദുപുരാണങ്ങളിലെ വിദ്യാദേവിയായ സരസ്വതിയാണ് പേരിന്റെ ആധാരം. 1991-ൽ കെ.കെ.ബിർള ഫൗണ്ടേഷൻ ആണ് ഇത് രൂപീകരിച്ചത്. ഇന്ത്യൻ ഭരണഘടനയുടെ എട്ടാം പട്ടികയിലുൾപ്പെടുന്ന ഭാഷകളിൽ രചിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള ഗദ്യ-പദ്യ കൃതികൾക്കാണ് ഈ സമ്മാനം നൽകുന്നത്. സാഹിത്യരംഗത്ത് ഇന്ത്യയിൽ നൽകുന്ന ഏറ്റവും മികച്ച പുരസ്കാരമായി സരസ്വതി സമ്മാൻ കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. 15 ലക്ഷം ഇന്ത്യൻ രൂപയും സമ്മാനഫലകവും പ്രശസ്തിപത്രവുമടങ്ങുന്നതാണ് പുരസ്കാരം.
