The first Partition of Bengal (1905) was a territorial reorganization of the Bengal Presidency implemented by the authorities of the British Raj. The reorganization separated the largely Muslim eastern areas from the largely Hindu western areas. Announced on 19 July 1905 by Lord Curzon, the then Viceroy of India, and implemented on 16 October 1905, it was undone a mere six years later. division of Bengal carried out by the British viceroy in India, Lord Curzon, despite strong Indian nationalist opposition. It divided Bengal into Hindu-dominated west which consisted of Bihar, Odisha, etc. and Muslim dominated East Bengal with Assam. The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the 2020  Nobel Prize in Physics with one half to Roger Penrose and the other half jointly to Reinhard Genzel and Andrea Ghez. Half of the Nobel prize went to Roger Penrose for the "discovery that black hole formation is a robust prediction of the general theory of relativity”, and the other half went to Reinhard Genzel and Andrea Ghez for the "discovery of a supermassive compact object at the centre of our galaxy”,  .
