About Kerala Excise department
Kerala Excise department comes under the Govt. of Kerala, Ministry of Excise. The department is tasked with enforcing rules regarding the sale, licensing, control of anything that uses alcohol. it is also responsible in preventing the sale and smuggling of Cannabis, heroin etc. along with the police. The principal duties of the Department are protection, augmentation and collection of Excise Revenue and enforcement of the above acts and various Rules made there under. The Department prevents leakage of revenue, and exerts effective control on the abuse of liquor and Intoxicating Drugs.
